Yes We CAN!, a group of volunteers dedicated to alleviating hunger, will collect donations of fresh produce once a month at the West Windsor Community Farmers' Market, beginning Saturday, Aug. 15.
The food will be used by The Crisis Ministry of Trenton to stock food pantries at Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton and in Trenton. Customers at the farmers' market are encouraged to buy fresh produce especially to donate for this drive. Currently, 3,500 individuals, including 1,000 children, visit the pantries monthly for free food, a 30 percent increase since last fall.
The farmers' market is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through late October in the southbound Vaughn Drive parking lot of the Princeton Junction train station, off Alexander Road and within one mile of Route 1.
